It’s that time of year!
For what you may ask? For fighting aging skin AND making New Year’s resolutions!
Luckily, drinking water can be the answer to both! Let’s start with the skin…Drinking sufficient amounts of water naturally plumps the skin makes us look younger & healthier.
And those New Year’s Resolutions? Our body needs water:
- To lubricate the joints, making the joint more able to absorb the shock of all the exercise you will be doing!
- To form saliva so food digests better, keeps the mouth clean reducing cavities, and when you drink water instead of soda or juice, you save your teeth and may lose weight!
- To get oxygen where it needs to go! Staying hydrated is important because blood is more than 90 percent water, and blood carries oxygen to different parts of the body. Stamina baby!
- To help brain structure and function for clear thinking and reasoning!
- To regulate body temperature. Water that is stored in the middle layers of the skin comes to the skin’s surface as sweat when the body heats up. As it evaporates, it cools the body. Having enough water in the body may reduce physical strain.
- To help the stomach & bowels work properly reducing heartburn and stomach ulcers! It also flushes body waste more efficiently through both the bowels, kidneys and skin!
- To maintain healthy blood pressure and help prevent muscle cramping, particularly during exercise!
- To keep our airways less restricted and less susceptible to infection, allergies and asthma symptoms!
- To make minerals and nutrients more accessible to different parts of the body!
- To improve performance during strenuous activity!
- To help with weight loss as “preloading” with water before meals can help prevent overeating!
